Dear Parents

While Term 1 is ending, it is great to see that our new students had adjusted to our school very well; big smiles on their faces is the primal sign of their happiness. Also positive feedback from our new parents about their experience at our school so far is a huge motivating factor for us.

We had started off the year with many exciting programs such as Photo Day, Clean Up Australia Day, Anti Bullying Week, Harmony Day, Multicultural Day and many more. Especially last week of the term was very busy with lots of special activities for student, parents and teachers. As part of Harmony and Multicultural Days, our Key Learning Areas (KLA) committee organized various programs throughout Week 8. Celebrations were worth seeing and proven that diversity is our strength and one of our core values. I would like to thank all of our KLA committee members for their hard work.

Anti- bullying seminars for teachers and parents by Mr Oscar Yildiz from Zero Bully Australia on the last day of term was very informative and an eye opener for the participants. I would like to thank Ms Figen Arslan for organizing the seminar. Bullying is an extremely serious concern at all schools and the main purpose of these seminars was to increase awareness about bullying, particularly cyber bullying, among our parents. It is a fact that bullying issue cannot be unscrambled definitely but at least we can minimize the problems and its affects via awareness and cooperation. Remember! We have zero tolerance towards bullying at our school. I would like to send my special thanks to those parents who have participated to this vitally important seminar. Just a short note on that this kind of information seminars for parents will continue with your support and attendance.

Our student portal, SEQTA Learn, is also active now and our parents will be able to access their SEQTA Engage accounts as off week 3 of Term 2. Once again for the parent accounts correct email addresses need to be provided to school. In relation to this, I would strongly recommend our parents not to miss out on upcoming parent teacher interviews, which will be held on 19th and 21st of April. Parents will be able to make their bookings from https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au/ website and you can the detailed information from office in regards online booking.

Last but definitely not least, I would like to bring a major safety issue into our parents' attention that unfortunately some of our students being dropped off to school very early and/or picked up very late. Since there is no supervision before and after school hours, all students must be dropped off to school earliest 8.30 a.m. and picked up latest 4.00 p.m. unless they have an afterschool program. This is all about our children's safety and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

I wish you all a happy break and hope to see you back in Term 2.
